Ghana School Platform

The aim of the project ‘Ghana School Platform’ is to maximize the possibilities which the internet offers for schools in the Brong – Ahafo - Region in Ghana.

One of the needs is up-to-date teaching material for teachers in Ghana. As teachers here are not trained to search the internet and decide if the information is useful or not, one platform is needed where (good) material is provided for free.
One of the needs is up-to-date teaching material for teachers in Ghana. As teachers here are not trained to search the internet and decide if the information is useful or not, one platform is needed where (good) material is provided for free. Another use of this platform will be a list of schools in the Brong – Ahafo - Region, their departments, school fees, contact details, etc.
This information is to be added to make the portal useful and used from the very beginning. At the moment students and parents have to go to each school to find out about the departments, the school fees and so on. A follow-up step for the homepage would be a place for a project contest: Schools and students from Ghana should be animated to set up their own projects which cover all the criteria of sustainability. Most projects at the moment are organized and financed from abroad. We want to encourage especially young people from Ghana to take action and promote their work throughout the world.

During the United-Games-week, a team of students and teachers from the Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre will be trained in how to use this platform and how to explain to others the aims and usage of it. Finally this team will make tours to other schools to train teachers and students.
