Youth in Action Mission Control Centre
All the Action Projects will be connected through the Internet with web cams, forums and chat rooms, and centrally coordinated by the United Games 2005 - Youth in Action Mission Control Centre at the University of Applied Sciences (FH Joanneum) in Kapfenberg/Austria. The students of the University Department for Internet Technology and Management will be coordinating all internet processes at the Mission Control Centre, while the students of the University Department for Journalism and Organisational Communication will be building up a "Youth in Action Press Agency" within the Mission Control Centre informing local, regional and national press and media in all countries involved about the development and progress of the Action Projects throughout the whole United Games Festival Week. Apart from the United Games Action Projects in Europe and in India we have also included one Action Project in Ghana in Africa this year.
Action Project Results
In every Action Project you will find a link "results". The results of the Action Projects will be uploaded on to the website everyday throughout the whole United Games festival, and you can download those results when you click on the "results" link.
At the end of the week all results of all Action Projects will be put together in a photo and text exhibition that will be simultaneously opened for the public in all participating countries. There is also a possibility for schools that have sent youth delegations to the various Action Projects in Europe to have this exhibition in their school by downloading and printing the results.
About United Games
The
United Games of Nations is a youth festival and youth exchange programme, which aims to promote peace and understanding between people in Europe and in other parts of the world. It started in Austria in a small village called Mürzsteg in Styria, a Federal State of Austria, in September 1989. Since then United Games has been established in six European regions and countries.
The United Games Youth Festivals take place simultaneously between the end of May and the beginning of June every year. Youth delegations are exchanged between all UG countries during the festival time. This year the United Games Youth Festivals focus on Action Projects that are chosen and organised by the young people themselves.
