UG 2006 – Youth in Action – Mission Control Center
You have reached the United Games 2006 – Youth in Action Website. In 2005 United Games, in close partnership and cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences, successfully organised the "UG 2005 - Youth in Action – Mission Control Center (MCC)" for the 1st time.
We linked 12 youth led development action projects through internet. These events took place simultaneously in Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Serbia & Montenegro, Slovenia in EUROPE, in India/ASIA and Ghana/AFRICA between 29th May and 5th June 2005.
Because of the great success in 2005 we will continue with the MCC - Project in 2006. We will also increase the number of Action Projects and countries participating in the week-long youth led action event, which will take place sometime between mid May and the beginning of June 2006 (the exact date will be announced in September 2005).

A Window to the World for Action Projects
Every evening during the United Games 2005 – Youth in Action – Mission Control Center week the Action Projects in the participating countries were uploading pictures, video clips and texts about what they did and had achieved throughout the day onto the United Games – Youth in Action – MCC Website.
At the Mission Control Center, which was based at the University of Applied Sciences (FH JOANNEUM) in Kapfenberg, Austria (Europe) students from the departments of Internet Technology and Management and Journalism and Organisational Communication together with young people from all participating countries were editing and laying out the incoming material.
Every day in the evening, the MCC uploaded the results from the various Action Projects onto the MCC Website. The students and young people also produced a press release about what happened in the various countries, translated the press release into the various languages and sent it out to local, regional and national press and media in the participating countries.
In the different countries, the results sheets were downloaded, printed and presented as an exhibition about all the Action Projects of all the countries. This exhibition was opened simultaneously in all participating countries at the end of the UG 2005 – Youth in Action Week.
The young people involved in the Action Projects communicated with their peers at the MCC in Kapfenberg, Austria (Europe) through chat rooms, "Teamspeak" an online telephone possibility and through an internet discussion forum.
