Global Village Project - Mission Control Centre (MCC)

All Action Projects in 15 countries around the world will be connected through internet in chat rooms, a discussion forum and online telephone facilities and will be centrally coordinated by the Global Village Project - Mission Control Centre at the University of Applied Sciences (FH JOANNEUM) in Kapfenberg/Austria. The students of the University Department of Internet Technology and Management in cooperation with the Institute of Geography and Environmental Sciences of Graz University will be coordinating all internet processes at the Mission Control Centre while the students of the University Department of Journalism and Organisational Communication will be building up a "Youth in Action Press Centre" within the MCC informing through daily press releases local, regional and national press and media in all countries involved about the development and progress of the Action Projects throughout the whole Global Village Project Action Week. Young people from different United Games organisations in Europe and in India and from the Welthaus in Graz will mount the various country desks at the Mission Control Centre and stay in touch with the action projects during the Action Week.

Tasks of the Action Projects
Every evening throughout the Global Village Project Action Week the action projects will send photos, short video clips and texts (interviews, statements, articles…) about the development and progress of the Action Project in their country to the Mission Control Centre in Kapfenberg/Austria. Young people from the action projects will stay in contact with their country desk at the MCC in Kapfenberg/Austria and communicate with the young people there.

Tasks of the Mission Control Centre
Every morning during the Global Village Project Action Week young people at the various MCC country desks open the incoming information from the different action projects around the world. They will edit and layout the information and put it in a result template. These templates will then be uploaded onto the Global Village Project Website into the result folder of every action project. Young people at the MCC Press Centre will use the information from the various projects and produce a press release, translate it into the national languages and send it out to the local, regional and national press and media of the countries involved in the Global Village Project 2006
