The Story of the Day
What a fantastic Global Village Project – Action Week it has been!!!
On Saturday the Mission Control Centre at the University of Applied Sciences came to an end. Many people at the various country desks said that they do not want to end it but to go on.
Here in Austria we all had a fantastic week and a very, very special atmosphere developed because we knew that we were connected with all of YOU out there in your projects in your villages and towns. Receiving all the wonderful material from you and your great work you have been doing in your local communities was a very special experience for all of us here at the MCC. – For one week the so often used phrase: "Act Locally – Think Globally" became a reality and we became a Global Village.
The people at the country desks worked as much as they could to produce nice result templates and got very enthusiastic when they received new information material from your countries and they suffered with you people out there in the field when they heard that there is a power cut or the local server collapsed and there was a big cheer going through the MCC when the electricity in one of the countries came back on again and the country desks could again communicate with their people in the field.
From the bottom of our hearts we want to thank all our young friends and partners and their teams in the various countries for doing such a great work during the Global Village Project Action Week. We just hope that you could enjoy working with us as much as we did working with all of you.
We will go on with the Global Village Project also in 2007 and we hope that you will join us again to form this wonderful global family for youth – led development action projects.
The whole Global Village Project and its website and Mission Control Centre only makes any sense if it is useful for you and your projects in the villages and towns you live in. So please stay in contact with us and let us prepare the Global Village Project 2007 together. We are one global family!
With warmest regards and a big THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
