- What do you like best about your country?
The beauty of the landscape with all its differences. We have cold winters and can have hot summers. We have high mountains and soft plains. There are many nice people in Austria and I have a lot of good friends here. It is a good country to live in and raise children. Austria is a small country in the centre of Europe and it is not far for me to travel and visit our beautiful and interesting neighbouring countries.
- What do you not like? What do you think are the main problems your country has to deal with?
Some Austrian People still have prejudices against foreign people, especially refugees. This causes a lot of misunderstandings and makes life for our foreign citizens not easy. Unfortunately some political parties in Austria also take advantage of this kind of thinking of some Austrians and use it in their political election campaign which causes problems and polarises the Austrian people.
- If you had to describe your country to a blind person in just one sentence what would you say?
If you walk in the Austrian mountains you will enjoy the fresh air and the sounds of nature that surrounds you. When you come down from the mountains to the plains of the eastern parts of Austria, you can feel the heat on your skin especially in summer and the wind will go through your hair. As soon as you enter one of Austria’s bigger towns and cities the sounds of cars, buses and cars will hit you. Almost every 2nd Austrian possesses a car.
- Hobbies:
I am a very lucky and privelged person as my work is also my hobby. I really like what I am doing. As I am away from home quite often I love to spend my free time with my family and spend time with good friends who very often help and support me in my projects.
- Favourite Meals:
As with music I like good food that is cooked well. I am not fuzzy with food. But I especially like the food my wife prepares for me.
-
Name some famous people of your country:
One of the most famous Austrians is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart a classical musician and composer. He lived in the 17th century. But his compositions and music is still performed today by the best musicians and orchestras of the world. Many of you might know Arnold Schwarzenegger a world famous actor and politician. He was born and grew up in Graz the town I live in. He then left for the US where he became a film actor and later joined politics. He is now the governor of California.
